Chalk N Pencils ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the personal data of our students, their parents and guardians, and visitors to our studios and website. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
We share personal data only with:
We keep enrolment, booking, and communication records while a student is actively engaged with us and for a reasonable period afterwards, to handle returning students, voucher claims, accounting requirements, and any necessary follow-up. We may keep photographs of students' artwork and classwork on an ongoing basis for our teaching records, portfolio, and promotional purposes, in line with the photography terms in our Terms & Conditions. Where such images are no longer linked to an identifiable student, we treat them as anonymised and may retain them indefinitely.
You can ask us at any time to:
To exercise any of these rights, email dpo@chalknpencils.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Our website uses cookies and tracking pixels (including the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics) to understand visitor behaviour and to show relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms. You can disable cookies in your browser, though this may affect site functionality.
Our team takes photos and videos in most of what we run: weekly classes, holiday programmes, workshops, birthday parties, and events outside our studios. This section covers all of them.
In classes, we photograph students' artwork, and sometimes students while they work. These are kept for teaching records and your child's portfolio, and shared with you.
At parties and events, we take photos and videos of the session so the people who booked have a record of the day. We share them with the person who booked through a private link, which they may pass on to the families of other guests who attended. The link stops working after about two weeks.
We keep an internal archive of this media, and we may use it in our records, as reference for enquiries, and in our marketing, for example on our website or social media.
If you would rather you or your child did not appear in our marketing, or you want a particular photo or video taken down, tell us and we will see to it. For children under 13, a parent or guardian can make the request on their behalf.
We collect information about children (our students) only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and only as needed to deliver our classes. Parents can access, correct, or delete their child's data at any time using the contact details below.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through our website and, where appropriate, via direct communication. The Last updated date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent change.
