We’ve put together answers to the most common questions from parents, so you can feel informed and at ease before joining us in the studio. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just drop us a message – we’re always happy to help.
1. I haven’t done art since school. Can I still join?
Indeed, many of our adult students are returning to art after a long break or trying it for the first time. Our classes are structured to guide beginners through the fundamentals of drawing and painting, while offering challenges for those with more experience. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance in a supportive environment.
2. What happens during the trial classes?
Our trial consists of two 2-hour sessions (S$89 total). You’ll meet your instructor, explore one medium of your choice (such as charcoal, watercolour, oil or acrylic), and work on a simple study to assess your strengths and interests. It’s a relaxed way to get a feel for our teaching style before deciding on a regular routine. All materials are provided.
3. Do I need to bring anything with me?
No materials are needed for trial classes or weekly sessions. We provide all basic tools and supplies.
4. Are your classes suitable for expats and retirees?
Yes. Our adult classes are attended by a diverse group, including working professionals, expatriates, and retirees. We keep our groups small to allow for individualised attention, and we tailor our guidance to each student’s pace and goals.
5. Can I explore different mediums or do I need to stick to one?
You’re welcome to explore. Many of our students start with one medium and gradually try others such as oil, watercolour, gouache, or ink. Our structure allows for flexibility, enabling you to deepen your skills in one area or expand into multiple areas.
6. Are your classes focused on technique or expression?
Both. We teach strong technical foundations such as composition, perspective, and colour theory, but we also encourage personal interpretation. Our goal is to help adults become confident in their skills while finding their own creative voice.
7. What if I miss a class?
We understand that life gets busy. We offer make-up sessions, subject to availability. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
