Busy Children's Art Class session at Chalk N Pencils Art Studio
Our Approach to Children’s Art
Art means something different for children. For a child, art is mainly a way for them to express themselves. Each child is unique and constantly changing, growing in their perception, understanding, and interpretation of the world around them. Art becomes a language of thought for children, and as they grow, their art expression changes with them.

My kid totally loves their art class at Chalk n pencils . The teacher makes art super fun for the little ones. The kids learn techniques and get creative in a relaxed setting. My kiddo looks forward to class and has become an awesome little artist thanks to all the encouragement to use their imagination. I’d definitely say check out this art class!

My daughter has been taught by Ms Kheng for years and she enjoys her Art lessons the most. Art classes at Chalk n Pencils have become one of her most favourite activities every week. Besides having a patient and firm teacher, she gets to do various kinds of art and she likes 3D art the most (specifically clay). She was also intrigued by the use of various mediums like charcoal and came home sharing with me what she has learnt. My daughter has learnt to be creative not just in her art work and drawing, but also in her overall thinking. I am thankful for the art lessons at Chalk n Pencils.

My 6yo son has been attending weekly art classes at Chalk N Pencils for almost 2 years now, and he has been enjoying his time there thoroughly. The projects are interesting and varied, new techniques are taught to him, and the teachers allow him to incorporate his interest areas into the artwork. He thinks of it as his happy place. Highly recommended!

My 3 year old liked his art class very much. It's in a cosy little corner of Katong Point where he interacts with students at his own age group which builds his confidence. The teachers are patient and guide along the art class rather than "spoon feeding" by drawing it for the kids and just having him colour it. Will definitely recommend for a toddler age kid who is interested in art!

Our family travels back and forth between Singapore and Japan, and every time we stay in Singapore, our children participate in the art classes there. Unlike art classes in Japan, these classes boldly use oil paints and are designed to develop age-appropriate fine motor skills. They create adorable pieces each time, and the children are always very happy and satisfied!

My child thoroughly enjoyed the art classes she attended, and I’m glad I chanced upon Chalk N Pencils online. The art pieces were very nicely done, which says a lot about the quality of the teachers.

We have tried several different art schools and my kids absolutely love attending the art classes with Ms Kheng and her team of teachers. They do a countdown to their weekly class and take a lot of pride in the pieces they create.

My daughter’s love of art has been reignited at Chalk N Pencil. She learns so much at each session. You can see her work constantly improve because of the excellent teaching. We are so happy with the class our son is now joining.

My son went for a trial at the studio and he enjoyed the two sessions very much. The studio is airy, bright and comfortable. I imagine the whole experience to be very therapeutic, especially after a day of lessons in school. I appreciate the small teacher-student ratio and attention provided. More importantly, the art work was truly created by my son.
