Pricing Enquiries

 

Can I drop by the studio to have a look and enquire about art classes?

Unfortunately, our studio is only open after school hours, during which our teachers will be busy teaching and will not be able to answer your questions. You may be able to observe from the outside as our studio has full-height glazing.

Do you offer Trial Classes?

Our trial classes are $89 for two consecutive weekly classes. It is valid once per student ages 3 – 17 years old.

Why are Trial Classes 2 sessions?

We offer two-session trial classes to ensure students have ample time to engage with and complete an art project fully. This approach provides a more comprehensive experience, allowing participants to understand better our teaching methods and the value of our art classes.

 Family Discounts?

If you have two or more budding artists, we will offer you our Family Discount. Kindly note that children must be siblings.

 

 

Lessons

 

What is the teacher-student ratio in each class?

In our studio, the teacher-student ratio is 1:4. There are no more than 2 different age groups per teacher.

 

How long is the duration of an art class?

Tots & Fam (aged 2-3 accompanied) is 45 minutes, Chalk I (aged 3-4) is 1 hour, Chalk II (aged 5-6) is 1 hour 15 minutes, Chalk III (aged 7-12) is 1 hour 30 minutes, Pencils (aged 13-17) is 2 hours and an Adult class is 3 hours long.

 

What is taught in the term?

Each term at Chalk N Pencils comprises 10 sessions, and all materials are included. Throughout the term, your child will complete one canvas painting, one 3D artwork, one creative drawing, and one mixed media artwork.

 

Can you do Private lessons or Portfolio Prep Classes?

Can parent accompany the child on his/her trial class?

It’s a drop-off class. Remember to pick your child up on time too.

 

Do I bring my own art materials?

No, you need not.​ We supply all materials needed for our art projects.

 

What do you teach in your children’s art classes?

In our regular weekly classes, children will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills across different media such as drawing, painting, 3D work, and clay.

 

Can you teach my child to draw?

If your child is showing an interest in art and wants to gain the confidence to draw better, yes!

 

Are you open on public holidays?
There will be no classes on public holidays and school holidays. School holiday workshops will take place during March, June, September and December school holidays.

 

What should we wear to the art class?
You can bring your own bring a water bottle and an apron if they have one 🙂 Aprons can also be purchased from the studio for $5.
For children, it can get messy when paint is involved, so we recommend clothes that are not precious.

 

Cancellations N Refunds

✐ Refunds for Holiday Programmes, private bookings or party cancellations are not given.  

✐ All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

✐ No refund of any fees will be made for any class missed by a student under any circumstances.

✐ No refund of any fees will be made for any withdrawal by a student from any program. 

✐ Make-up sessions can be arranged if notice is given 2hrs before the class on our app.

✐ If a booked make-up is not attended, then the make-up class will be forfeited.

✐ Kindly arrange replacement classes (subject to availability) within the term; if not, the session will be forfeited.

✐ Replacement classes cannot be used as credit towards another term’s fees.

Terms N Conditions

1) REGISTRATION AND DEPOSIT

  1. Registration fee of $40 per student is due upon enrollment. 
  2. Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE 

2) FEES 

  1. Fees are charged on a termly basis before the start of the term. Payment will be automatically deducted from your customer account on a quarterly basis through Visa, Mastercard, or American Express credit cards. 
  2. Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, however we do consider the following exceptional circumstances: – When student sustains an injury that does not permit them to participate over an extended period of time, the remaining course fee credit can be put on hold for a maximum period of 6 months, after verification of supporting medical certificate, and subject to class availability. If the injury justifies permanent withdrawal, the remaining course fee credit will be refunded. – If Chalk N Pencils cancels a class with insufficient registration (full refund). 
  3. Credit will not be given if class is not cancelled on our website. 
  4. If a class is cancelled due to sickness of the teacher, a health epidemic or any other foreseen or unforeseen event, Chalk N Pencils will reschedule the class. This may be on a different day or a different time or might involve exceptionally running a class on a public holiday. No refunds will be given in this case. 
  5. Public Holiday: There will be no lessons conducted on public holidays. Class fees will not be charged. 
  6. Proration of Fees: Fees will not be prorated (only the very first billing cycle may be charged as a partial term): once a slot is booked, fees are charged on the basis of a full term minus public holidays. Families that need time off for their overseas travel planning or to focus on examinations may put lessons on hold without incurring any penalties: once a year (Jan to Dec) and for a maximum period of four weeks consecutively (strictly). The slot will be kept for this student. Please understand that this has a cost to Chalk N Pencils and no exemptions will be made for more than one pause in a year or for a longer period. Should students need to stop their lessons for more than 4 weeks, they can submit a withdrawal notice. Chalk N Pencils will not save a class slot. 
  7. Refund: Chalk N Pencils has a strict no refund policy. Once a new cycle has been billed, you are entitled to the remaining lessons of the term.

 

 

3) PAYMENTS 

  1. Invoices must be settled by automated debit before the start of the next term.
  2. Clients must save their card details in “Auto-Pay” via the booking site. Note that we do not store bank information, payments are processed via Stripe’s secured platform (more details at https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe) 
  3. In case the auto-payment is rejected, it has to be addressed before the start of the term. A $20 late fee will be automatically assessed for fees received after this date. 
  4. If any fees remain outstanding after the start of the term, Chalk N Pencils reserves the right to ask participants to leave the class.

4) MAKE-UP VOUCHERS

  1. If you’re unable to attend a class, visit your account at least 2hrs before the class start time, and complete the following three steps:
    A.Select Bookings
    B. Locate the class and choose View Details
    C. Select Unable To Attend
    D. Completing the above three steps will automatically trigger a Make-Up Voucher to be issued to your account.
  2. Make-up vouchers will only be issued if class is cancelled 2 hours prior to the lesson start time.
  3. Make-up vouchers cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  4. Make-up vouchers will expire three months after they are issued.
  5. Make-up vouchers will be forfeited when the student withdraws from the class and cannot be used in the following term.
  6. If a booked make-up is not attended, the make-up class will be forfeited.
  7. To redeem your Make-Up Vouchers, an active term booking is required.

 

5) NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL 

  1. Withdrawal: Once enrolled, your child is enrolled on a continuous basis until a withdrawal notice has been logged. Such notice can be given in writing before the end of the term. The effective date of the withdrawal will be the last class of the term. I.e., if I give notice at any date within a given term, I will finish my current term cycle. Only written notice of withdrawal to chalknpencils@gmail.com will be considered. Informing an instructor or staff of intent to withdraw or not attend classes, does not constitute a withdrawal from classes. 
  2. Termination: Chalk N Pencils reserves the right to dismiss a student due to frequent absences, disciplinary reasons, overdue tuition payments or non-compliance with policies and procedures listed here. In such cases, no fee refunds will be given.

 

6) INJURY/INSURANCE 

  1. Students with an existing injury must notify Chalk N Pencils when registering, and attend classes at their own risk. 
  2. Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class. 
  3. Chalk N Pencils Art Studio does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all students be covered by their own family insurance policies. And if injury occurs it is understood that the participant’s own policy is their only source of reimbursement.

 

7) TRIAL CLASSES

  1. Trial classes are only valid once per student.
  2. Trial classes are two sessions long so as to ensure students have ample time to engage with and complete an art project fully. This approach provides a more comprehensive experience, allowing participants to understand better our teaching methods and the value of our art classes.
  3. Past or existing students are not eligible for trial classes.
  4. Trial vouchers expires in 3 weeks and cannot be extended for any resons.

 

8) COMPETITIONS 

  1. Participation in art competitions is open to all and is optional. 
  2. There are strictly no refunds for registration fees once we receive your written confirmation of participation. 

 

9) ADVANCEMENT 

  1. Students will advance at the beginning of the year if they have reached the minimum age for the next level.

 

10) STUDENT PROGRESS REPORTS

  1. Student progress reports will be sent out at the end of every term. 

 

11) SCHEDULE & CLASS CHANGES 

  1. The Studio reserves the right to alter the advertised program and/or teacher without prior notice. The information on this page and other printed or electronic brochures/notices is correct at the time of print or posting. 
  2. Students wishing to make a class change must first obtain approval from the teacher/director. 

 

12) SUBSTITUTION 

  1. The Studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes without prior notice. 

 

13) PRIVATE LESSON 

  1. For private lessons there will be no make up for any cancellation of lessons by students unless sufficient notice has been given (24 hours minimum) with supporting documents such as a Medical Certificate. The make up will be arranged at the discretion of management and subject to the availability of the teacher. 

 

14) DISCOUNTS 

  1. Where two or more family members attend classes, a 4% family discount will be applied. The discount will commence at the start of a full billing cycle provided at least two family members are still enrolled. 

 

15) DRESS CODE 

  1. All students are encouraged to wear clothes that are not precious as it can get messy during art class.
  2. Aprons will be provided in the studio. You are also able to purchase an apron for your child from the studio at $5.

 

16) STUDIO RULES 

  1. No food or drinks of any kind are permitted in the studios. 
  2. No outside shoes are to be worn in the studios. 
  3. Class will be conducted with the doors closed. 
  4. Students must arrive to class on time.
  5. Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class. 
  6. Parents/guardians of children under 5 years of age are responsible for their child’s toilet breaks. Children should be going to the toilet before class. It is not the role of the studio or the administrators to bring them. 
  7. Punctuality: Students and parents must ensure they arrive no earlier than 10 mins before the start of class. Classes will start on time and end of time, and latecomers may disrupt class flow and concentration.
  8. Parents/guardians are not allowed to sit in for their child’s class as it is a drop-off class. Parents/guardians are to pick them up on time. 
  9. No students under 12 years of age are permitted to leave the studio’s premises without an adult, unless permission has been given in writing.
  10. Classes should not be interrupted while in session. 
  11. We are not responsible for unsupervised children. 
  12. Chalk N Pencils is not responsible for any lost or damaged items. 
  13. Please be reminded to collect artwork promptly. Chalk n Pencils reserves the right to dispose of any items not collected within 1 month after the term ends.

 

17) DATA PROTECTION 

  1. Chalk N Pencils Art Studio holds information about our customers to enable us to carry out our business as an art studio. The information includes the contact details supplied to us and may also include information on courses and students’ records. 
  2. Chalk N Pencils will not disclose your information to third parties except where the law allows or requires, or where you have given your permission to do so. 

 

18) RELEASE OF LIABILITY 

  1. As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Chalk N Pencils Art Studio, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or in route to or from any of said premises. 

 

19) MEDICAL EMERGENCIES 

  1. As the legal parent or guardian, I give permission to Chalk N Pencils Art Studio, its owners and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. 
  2. I hereby declare that I have informed the Studio in writing of any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health. 

 

20) PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE AND AGREEMENT 

  1. It is understood that Chalk N Pencils Art Studio reserves the right to use any photography and/or videography of students’ performances for purposes of advertising and promoting the studio. 
  2. I give permission for Chalk N Pencils Art Studio to take photos and videos of me or my child while participating in Chalk N Pencils Art Studio art classes and activities for promotional purposes. 
  3. All ownership (including copyright) as well as all other rights, title and interest in and to the photography and videography shall belong exclusively to Chalk N Pencils Art Studio Pte Ltd. 

 

21) CHANGES TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

  1. Chalk N Pencils reserves the right to change and modify these terms and conditions. 

 

22) AGREEMENT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

  1. Terms and conditions must be accepted with the appended signature of the parent and/or guardian. By enrolling yourself or students in the school, parents and guardians of students attending classes are taken to have accepted the Terms and Conditions.
